Ghana Defender John Boye says his major target is to remain fit and impress at next year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The former Heart of Lions player who missed Ghana’s final qualifying games against Egypt due to injuries will be making his maiden appearance at the competition while the Black Stars make their third straight appearance.
Ghana is paired in the same Group with Germany, Portugal and USA. The 26-year-old who just returned from a two-month injury layoff told XYZ Sports that his focus is to perform well for the team and secure himself a good deal at the end of the competition.
“Of course as a team we all know what we going to Brazil to do,” Boye told XYZ Sports.
“I have a personal ambition as an individual and that is to change my club,” he added.
“I have always had the dream to move to a bigger club after my contract with Rennes so the World Cup in Brazil gives me the opportunity to showcase what I have to the rest of the world.
“My determination is to fight very hard and take my country to the top but personally I also want to play well and excel at my maiden World Cup competition,” Boye added.
