ISAAC BOAKYE to Quit Kotoko

Following months of rumours and speculation that bad blood exists between Asante Kotoko's top striker, Isaac Boakye and head coach Abdul Razak it has finally been established that all was not well, after all.

The striker who endeared himself so much with breathtaking strikes during the GHALCA Top Four tourney spilled the beans in a radio interview in Kumasi over the weekend, and accused Razak of not appreciating his worth.

Boakye wondered why the coach had made it a habit of pulling him out of matches or starting him from the bench.

The intelligent striker referred to the recent match against Hearts of Oak in Kumasi when he was pulled off and claimed that he would definitely have scored in the match just as he did in Kotoko's match against Goldfields in Kumasi when he scored a last minute goal for Kotoko to draw with the Miners.

He denied the accusations levelled against him that he is consumed with jealousy due to how the club has of late hero-worshiped Charles Taylor, the newest sensation of Asante Kotoko.

"I don't have any problems at all with Charles Taylor. We are very good friends. All what I am saying is that I am not happy with the way I am being treated by the coach," he stated.

Boakye further disclosed that he was leaving for Germany where he has had a club, to continue with his career. He claimed that his departure has been long overdue but only chose to stay on due to his love for Kotoko. He said that the current situation has compelled him to leave now.

It is unknown if he is leaving with the blessing of his management but Abdul Razak says he has no problem with Boakye and says stories of any differences are imagined. In an interview in yesterday's edition of the Africa Sports, Razak said he liked Boakye very much and was working with him in a peaceful way for the fabulous cause.
