Injury has hit the South Africas' Under 23 national team the "Amaglug-glug" thus killing their aspirations to win the Olympic Game Qualifier match against Ghana this weekend.
This follows the withdrawal of Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lerato Chabangu and Ajax Cape Town midfielder Mkhanyinseli Siwahla due to injury.
The duo now joins Orlando Pirates' Lebohang Mokoena who also withdrew from the team earlier last week due to similar problem.
In view of the situation those players will not travel with the team to Ghana for the match. Amaglug-glug head coach Steve Komphela has therefore invited striker Calvin Kadi and Sehlo Nale of Super Sports United and Golden Arrows respectively.
28 man contingent of the Amaglug-glug are expected to arrive at the Kotoka International Airport around 2pm today for the match to come off at the refurbished El Wak stadium in Accra on sunday.
In a related development, one of the foreign based professionals of Ghanas'Under 23 team ,Michael Helegbe in an exclusive interview with HOT SPORTS is appealling to Ghanaian soccer loving fans to be at the El Wak stadium to give them maximum support to enable them win against their South African counterparts.Even though the ghanaians won the first game in South Africa, the Guingamp(France) star stressed that he and his colleagues will go all out since the Amaglug-glug will come into this game like wounded Lions for revenge. The Black Meteors defeated their opponents 3-1 with 2 goals from Prince Tagoe and the other one from Obed Ansah.
