Accra, Aug.11, GNA - Valentine Atem, Obuasi AshantiGold arrow head striker will be out of action for his side in the next few weeks as a result of injury.
The Cameroonian import sustained an injury on the leg in a recent trial match against Brong Ahafo United and missed the outstanding first leg of the Special GHALCA Knock out Championship match against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Information gathered by the GNA Sports from technical team of AshantiGold indicates that the player will not be available for the second leg game as he is yet to gain full recovery.
According to the information, it is likely that the player will able to bounce back into action in September following the nature of the injury.
Mr Amartei Armaah popularly known in football circles as "Sai coachiee" the physiotherapist of the Obuasi club confirmed the information to the GNA Sports.
The former Black Stars physio described the injury as "trickish" saying it will take some time to heal.
He said that even though the player has resumed some minor exercises as part of the recovery programme he would need more time to ensure maximum healing.
The Cameroonian player has for the past years been a regular goal scorer for the club in the premiership and his absence has obviously resulted in the near misses by the club in recent matches.
