Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies have confirmed accepting the resignation of former head coach Yaw Acheampong.

Acheampong felt disrespected after the club hired the more experienced Paa Kwesi Fabin as head coach and director of Education for their football school two weeks ago.

Despite being re-assigned as a First Team coach and kept on the same salary, the former Tema Youth coach decided to quit.

A statement on the club’s website on Friday read: “In consultation with the Technical Committee, the Management of Inter Allies FC with much difficulties and pain has decided to accept the resignation of Mr Yaw Acheampong as the coach of Inter Allies FC

“We wish him the best in his career. In line with our practice, our doors are always open for him to return.”

Acheampong’s exit has led to some changes to the club’s technical department.

“Effective today (Friday), Christopher Tsomafo (then assistant coach) will now be the Coach for our Youth Teams (Division 2 and U-17 Teams) and also plays a dual role as, one of the two scouts for the First Team,” the statement signed by the club’s CEO/Brands Manager Delali Senaye added.

“Paa Kwesi Fabin is now the Manager of all the Teams at Inter Allies FC.” Inter Allies are set for their second year in the Ghana top-flight and will open their 2014/2015 campaign against Medeama at home.
