Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako has been voted the worse among the top three goalkeepers of the club over the last ten years, a study conducted by GHANAsoccernet.com has revealed.
According to the study former goalkeepers of the club Soulama Abdoulaye and George Owu were better goalkeepers for the Porcupine Warriors compared to Isaac Amoako.
The study, titled Simple Observational Survey, was undertaken by Ghana’s biggest football website to find out the most productive players of the club over the period.
Fifty sports journalists were randomly selected all over the country to submit a list of their best eleven players of the club in the decade; from 2005 till date.
The journalists were not given any special criteria for selecting the players but were allowed to use their own credentials based on the performance of the players for the club within the period.
Soulama Abdoulaye was voted the best goalkeeper of the club in the last ten years with a total vote of 40 from the 50 journalists representing 80%.
George Owu picked the second spot with just 7 votes, representing 14% of the votes, trailing the Burkinabe goalie by 20 votes.
The current longest serving goalie of the club, Isaac Amoako picked the third spot with only 3 votes resenting 6% of the total votes.
Some other goalkeepers like Eric Nii Baah and George Arthur were not recognized at all as their contributions for the club was negligibly unrecognizable by the journalists.
