Kevin-Prince Boateng said it’s “painful to see Milan like this” and trusts Italy will soar with Antonio Cassano at the World Cup.

The Ghana international left San Siro over the summer for a return to Germany, where is currently playing for Schalke 04.

“It’s painful to see Milan like this, because I am still a fan and they will always remain in my heart,” Boateng told Verissimo.

“Clarence Seedorf is certainly a better player than a Coach, as he had so many years of experience. As a tactician he’ll take a little while.

“It is not easy to arrive at a situation like this at Milan and change things in one day. He can be a great Coach, but he needs to be given time.

“As for Mario Balotelli, there is too much pressure on him. Mario is still young and, if his mind is clear of problems, he is a great player. There’s far too much piled on to his shoulders.”

If Balotelli will be at the World Cup with Italy, then Cassano and Francesco Totti are hoping to be last-minute additions.

“If Cassano plays, then Italy can certainly finish in the top four,” continued Boateng.

“Antonio is in an incredible moment of form. I’d love to talk to Cesare Prandelli and urge him to bring Cassano to Brazil.

“Totti is also strong, even if now he is a little too old. It would be a good sign for the squad and he’d bring a lot of experience.”

Boateng was born in Germany and announced he’ll soon marry girlfriend Melissa Satta, who is expecting their first child together.

“Would I return to Milan? I am very happy in Germany, as it is my home, but in the world of football you never know. I had three fantastic years at Milan and they remain in my heart.”
