Ittifaq demand US$3m for Tagoe

Saudi giants Al Ittifaq have told two Italian clubs that they must pay US$3m if they are to sign Ghana striker Prince Tagoe.

Serie A sides Cagliari and Atalanta have expresssed interest in the striker who was one of the highest scorers in the Saudi league this season.

Al Ittifaq have already turned down a US$1.5m bid from Serbian side Red Star Belgrade inisisting they want Tagoe to remain at the club.

The Saudis softened their stance on Friday as they have told the striker's agent that he can leave for the right amount.

"I have been holding talks with officials of Al Ittifaq today and they have agreed that Prince can leave for US$3m," Benedict Lodonu told Football365.co.za on Friday.

"We have told them that the player wants to player wants to stay in the Ghana national team and playing in Serie A will enhance his chances."

Tagoe is currently on international duty with Ghana in Gabon for their 2010 qualifying campaign on Saturday.
