Jackson pleads with Kotoko fans

Asante Kotoko midfielder, Jackson Owusu, has pleaded with the club’s fans not to lose hope on the team.

The ‘star-studded’ league holders flattered to deceive in the first round of the season in which they placed fifth coupled with their shock exit from the Champions League at home to Algeria’s MC El Eulma.

The former Berekum Chelsea holding midfielder while apologising, says they are envisaging a turnaround as Kotoko begins to prepare for the resumption of the league in June.

“We couldn’t reach the level we set for ourselves and that we want the supporters to forgive us,” Jackson told the club’s website.

“We plead that they don’t lose hope on us because, like them, we are also not happy with the situation and are doing everything possible and necessary to rise up, win more matches, win the league if we can or at least get a respectable placement.

“We will work hard to improve so that the club and the supporters will benefit from our being here. We envisage a better second round since the title isn’t gone yet, and that is our motivation for the camping in Tema,” he ended.

Jackson who is in his first season at Kotoko was one of the most consistent features in the starting line-up. He played in 13 games of the FCPPL first round.
