Joetex Frimpong’s Black Stars career is far from over, according to the Director of Communication of the Ghana football Association Ibrahim Saanie Dara.
He said the technical team of the Black Stars will closely monitor the progress of the striker who recently joined Swiss side FC Zurich. Joetex Frimpong recently returned to top flight football after a two –year injury absence.
Ibrahim Saanie Dara disclosed that the Ghana Football Association would consider the fact that the player just recovered from injury and will watch him carefully as he starts playing in his new club FC Zurich. Saanie Daara emphasized the fact that the doors were still open to the player to join the Black Stars of Ghana during the qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil or the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
“If he reaches the standard of game acclaimed by coach Kwesi Appiah, I am sure that he will be part of the team,” Saanie Daara said.
The spokesman added that the player’s return into the international football depends on his capacities and ability to compete for a place in the team.
Joetex Frimpong, who just signed a six- month contract with the Swiss club FC Zurich, ended his two years on the sidelines over the previous weekend as his club was held by a 1-1 draw by his former club Luzern in the Swiss top flight season opener.
