Ghanaian defender John Boye was on the losing side as his side Sivasspor were defeated 3-2 by Konyaspor in the Turkish Cup at Konya Büyük?ehir Stadium on Thursday evening.
The home side managed to progress into the semi final stage 3-2 on aggregate after playing out a 0-0 score line the first leg a fortnight ago at the Yeni Sivas 4 Eylül Stadyumu.
Goals from Dimitar Rangelov in the 35th minute via a penalty set the tone for the home side before Ergin Keles levelled the score line for the away side but Ivorian midfielder Moryké Fofana restored Konyaspor lead in the 46th minute just before half time.
Ergin Keles failed to draw parity when he was presented with a spot kick in the 57th minute as he blasted his effort wide. However, seconds later Emre Kilinc draw his side level with a net finish.
Fofana broke the heart of the away fans as he snatched his second of the match on the 76th minute mark to win his side the ticket to the semi final stage where they will meet Kasimpasa in two weeks time.
John Boye was yellow carded in the 93rd minute when he had an altercation with
Ali Camdali, who was also cautioned.
