Ghana international Jordan Ayew and his Aston Villa teammates will be required to take a 50 per cent pay drop should they stay at the club next season.
Reports indicate Jordan together with some of the recent signings at the Club had the clause in their contracts which is likely to be executed following the team’s demotion to the Championship.
The situation could however force the 24-year-old out of the Club at the end of the season.
The former Olympique Marseille forward have been linked with a summer move to fellow Premiership side West Ham United.
The pay cut clause is said to be common among the lower Club in the English Premier League particularly those at the lower end of the table.
The former Lorient attacker has currently the Club’s top scorer with six goals.
