Ghanaian journalist who are currently residing in the USA for their respective

programmes and studies have endorsed the candidature and thrown their weight

behind GFA President Kwasi Nyantaki to win the West Africa Zone B slot when CAF

delegates goes to the polls next week.

The elections which has been scheduled to take place at the 33rd CAF Ordinary

General Assembly in Khartoum, Sudan, prior to the finals of the on-going CHAN

competition will see the Ghana FA Boss facing counterparts from Benin, Niger and

Togo for the Executive position.

The journalists made this known as the were interviewed by Charles Amponsah

a.k.a Governor, Sports Host on African Beat Radio 106.5 F.M in

Massachusetts,USA.

First to be interviewed was Pennsylvania based, Nii Ayi Tetteh(Ga Mantse),

believes Nyantakyi has done more than enough for Ghana football and that of the

sub-region to be ignored by CAF officials when they go for the elections next

week.

The Kencity Media Limited Sports Producer believes Nyantakyi currently posses a

very rich C.V in football administration that will see him win positions at CAF

should he decide to contest any.

According to Nii Ayi Tetteh, the Nyantakyi-led administration has distinguished

itself to be counted among the best if not the best as far as past management in

Ghana football is concern, something that he sees as a bigger plus for the FA

Boss to win the post.

“I think the FA President has demonstrated from his days as GHALCA member that

indeed he is a leader, a team player and has what it takes to administer and

manage modern day football, something that has seen his team recording success

for Ghana football since assuming office and that will be a bigger plus for him

as he seeks the CAF post” he said.

“Though not the best can be said about Ghana football considering the dismal

performance by the Ghana team at the on-going CHAN competition, I think Kwasi

Nyantakyi and his team has scored higher marks in the books of most connoisseurs

of the games by qualifying Ghana to two successive World Cup finals in 2006 and

2010 and reaching the quarter-finals to equal the record of Cameroon and Senegal

as well as winning the African Youth Championship in 2009 all by making the

continent proud. Trust me, I will be the first to hand him my vote if I were to

vote” he added.

Former Citi F.M and Net2 T.V Sports Presenter, Zelda Adjei-Darko, who is based

in Atlanta Georgia and married to Ghana’s Tennis star, Henry Adjei-Darko, was

also quick to endorse the candidature Nyantakyid and backed him for the CAF

position claiming the Ghana FA Boss deserves the post.

“I think Kwasi Nyantakyi is now a household name in Africa Football considering

his track record and what he has done for Ghana and the continent, CAF needs

people of his caliber to move the continent forward in football” she said.

However Zelda entreated the GFA extend to the female national teams the much

needed attention just like their male counterpart do enjoy since the gap between

needs to be narrowed.

Former Peace F.M Sports Producer, Godwin Agoe and fellow Kenneth Yankah,

formerly of Daily Guide, who were also interviewed on the programme were of the

view that Nyantakyi has paid his dues in African Football administration and

deserved to be backed for the CAF Executive position.

Agoe also added that the mandate of the current Nyantakyi-led administration

deserves to be extend by delegates during the next GFA Extra Ordinary Congress

in order to see the team continue with their good works.

Nyantakyi is contesting the CAF Executive position for West Africa Zone B with

four other candidates, and the election will take place when CAF meets at the

forthcoming General Assembly in Khartoum this month
