KATH to organise fund raising football match

Kumasi, Sept. 25, GNA - The management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, will in the first week of October organise a football match at the Ohene Djan stadium, Accra and the Baba Yara stadium, Kumasi as part of efforts to increase contributions to its Endowment Fund to encourage football fans make meaningful contributions to the Fund. The first leg of the match which will be played between Accra Hearts of Oak and King Faisal Babies will be at the Ohene Djan Sports stadium in Accra on October 5, while the return encounter will be played at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on October 12. The match will be facilitated by "Come to My Aid International', a fund-raising organisation which has been contracted by KATH to assist in soliciting for funds through fund-raising activities to support the Endowment Fund. Mr Jude Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of "Come to My Aid International" in a briefing with the media in Kumasi about the activities said the matches were one of the numerous activities lined up to raise funds for the hospital. The Endowment Fund was established about three years ago by the hospital to support the rehabilitation of the existing old structures and improve upon its facilities to raise it the status of a modern hospital.

Mr Gyamfi said his outfit intends to organise a massive musical rock show in Kumasi, another high profile football match, sale of customized KATH postage postage stamps, development of mobile text codes and the positioning of 200 branded boxes at vantage places throughout the country as part of the activities to be undertaken to solicit for funds to support the development of the hospital. The Chief Executive assured the public of greater accountability and transparency in all the activities and appealed to the general public to assist and contribute generously towards a worthy course. Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare, Chief Executive Officer of KATH said the hospital needs about two million Ghana cedis to modernize its infrastructure and appealed to corporate organizations and individuals to support it

The Chief Executive of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grunsah and Mr Neil Amstrong Mortagbe, Consultant to the CEO of Hearts of Oak, pledged their full support and cooperation to ensure the success of the matches.
