KMA football team beat Asokwa 3-2

Kumasi, May 27, GNA - The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) football team on Tuesday beat Asokwa constituency 3-2 in a special friendly match at the Kumasi Sports stadium.

Mr Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the Metropolitan Chief Executive organised the friendly in the metropolis to promote cordial relations between the assembly and the people of Asokwa.

Two goals expertly executed by Mr Senkyire a government appointee for Manhyia ensured that KMA carried the day tha t was witnessed by a a capacity crowd.

KMA squandered several chances in the early stages of the game until the 28th minute when Senkyire connected a cross from the far right into the net.

Kwame Nyarko scored the second goal for the KMA when he flipped the ball over the head of on-rushing Emmanuel Nyantakyi in goal for Asokwa in the 41st minute.

Senkyire followed up two minutes later with a powerful shot from the goal area to register the third goal for the KMA in the 43rd minute. Isaac Brobbey of Asokwa however managed to beat down the score in a goalmouth melee in the 56th minute.

Kofi Karikari scored the second goal for Asokwa in the 63rd minute through a spot kick.

Asokwa had a golden opportunity to level up the scores in the dying minutes of the game but he shot feebly into the hands of goalkeeper Seth Afful to end the game in favour of KMA. 27 May 04
