Controversial Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is facing a huge fine from his German club Schalke after clashing with the staff of an airline on a recent Champions League journey.

The 26-year-old clashed with the flight crew on board the airline on their journey from Dusseldorf to Lisbon on their way for the match against the Portuguese giants.

He was hauled before the club’s hierarchy last week to answer for his alleged misconduct before a decision is taken on what punishment to be meted out to him. Boateng is reported in the German newspapers to have been livid about the services on board the flight which resulted in him lashing out at the crew which led to the stand off.

Reports of the incident have also attracted the attention of notably honorary president of Schalke Gerhard Rehberg who has tagged his as attitude ‘social behaviour’.

A financial sanction is what is being considered for the midfielder who is used to hiring private jet full of comfort for journeys.

Boateng lashed out at some of the airlines Ghana used during the World Cup and incidents there led to his indefinite suspension from the Black Stars.
