Kevin-Prince Boateng scored as he helped AC Milan come from a goal to win 3-1 against Catania in the Serie A on Friday but was red-carded.
Milan recovered from an 11th minute opener by Catania as Boateng scored in between Stephan El Shaarawy's second-half double.
The Ghanaian put Milan in front in the 57th though with a spectacular long-range strike at a time when Catania, eight minutes before had been reduced to ten men.
Boateng was sent off late on after picking a straight red card in the last minute.
The win moves Milan up to seventh place on 21 points, 11 adrift of leaders Juventus who have Ghana international Kwadwo Asamoah on their books.
