Veteran Sports Analyst, Karl Tuffuor has questioned Jordan Ayew’s quality as a world class striker, stating that he was shocked at the 23-year-old’s wastefulness in front of goal during the Black Stars 1-2 loss to Senegal at the ongoing Cup of Nations.
There have been calls for Ayew to be replaced by Accam or Mahatma Otoo in Friday’s game against Algeria after the Lorient attacker fluffed a header in the dying embers of the Group C opener that could have given Ghana a win last Monday.

“I am beginning to wonder whether Jordan (Ayew) is an international class player. Just before (Sow) scored the winning goal, Jordan had a scoring opportunity when he came face to face with the Senegal goalkeeper (Coundoul). Look at that header he missed from Jordan. If it were Asamoah Gyan, he would have scored,” Mr. Tuffuor told Happy FM.
The ex-Olympique Marseille forward, who is playing at his second AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea, has so far scored 5 goals in 13 appearances for the Black Stars since his debut in September 2010.
