Former Managing Director (MD), of Accra Hearts of Oak, Gerald Ankrah says Kenichi Yatsuhashi has vindicated him.

The Board and Management of Accra Hearts of Oak were criticized by football connoisseurs in Ghana after Mr Ankrah approved the appointment of Kenichi Yatsuhashi as Herbert Addo’s successor for the club.

Fans of the club demanded for heads to roll when their pre-season was poor, and Mr. Ankrah resigned after several incessant attacks.

The Phobians have started the Ghana Premier League well and the club’s former MD feels vindicated in appointing the former Aspire Academy players development coach.

He said he had no hard feelings towards his critics.

“Well I took it as a normal thing, let me be honest that majority of our people or most our people did not really understand but there was a lot of thoughts that went into the choosing of Coach Kenichi.

“And it was done by a committee of which I was a member but in taking this decision it was purely the Managing Director versus the rest of Hearts of Oak,” he told Accra based Kasapa FM.

“I thank God that people have seen the benefit of the coach. I will not want to take the glory alone but I think it was all God’s way of working.

“In every situation we have people who are visionaries and people who don’t really understand the vision but I am praying that Coach Kenichi will succeed and the supporters will see the benefits of his appointment and together we restore the Hearts of Oak glory.” he said.

Accra Hearts of Oak are currently first on the league log with 10 points, two more than close contenders Wa All Stars and Dreams FC after four games.
