Portsmouth's FA Cup final hopes have suffered a huge blow after midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng was ruled out of tomorrow’s Wembley showpiece against Chelsea with an ankle injury.
The German-born Ghana World Cup star did not travel with the rest of the squad as they boarded the team coach for London yesterday.
Manager Avram Grant said: ‘It’s not looking so good for Kevin. He has not trained this week and at the moment he will not play.
It is just an ordinary week for Portsmouth — we have only the eight injuries!’ But on-loan Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara did travel and is likely to play after undergoing pain-killing injections to ease the pain of two stress fractures in his back.
Defenders Marc Wilson, Nadir Belhadj, Lenny Sowah, midfielders Richard Hughes and Hassan Yebda and striker Aruna Dindane are also struggling to be fit for the match.
