The president of Kumasi based King Faisal, Mr. Herbert Mensah has described as infantile assertion by section of the media that this season is going to be the worse one for King Faisal in recent times.

In an exclusive interview with Space Sports, the indefatigable President said that the team is currently undergoing a massive transformation would soon be a team to beat.

“It took us two, three years to build Kotoko into a winsome and conquering side, that is exactly what we are doing at King Faisal”. He stressed. This notwithstanding, he said he expects Faisal to be competitive this season but the aim is not to win the league. “We are building professional structures which would yield dividends in the near future”. He added.

The former Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has embarked on intensive rebuilding exercise since joining Alhaji Grunsa King Faisal. Among the pragmatic measures he has put in place include the lucrative deal with the one of the giants in the global communications, Nokia. For the first time in the history of Faisal, he has made the club so attractive that top class players in the premier league are gunning to join the team. He has reversed the trend of perennial movement of Faisal players to Kotoko by signing Godwin Ablordey, Kojo Poku and Abass Inusah from Kotoko. King Faisal led the transfer market this season by signing other players like Abu Zeid, Sumalia Alhassan, Prince Antwi and Ranti Abdullai.

The Nokia Boys, as they are affectionately known are not faring too well in the Premier league as they have won only one out of their five matches. They have a game in hand against Liberty Professionals.
