Glo Ghana Premier League side, King Faisal have made history with the appointment of Mrs. Betty Anim-Addo as their Accra representative.

The wife of Asamoah Gyan Foundation CEO, Samuel Anim-Addo becomes the first female to take up such position and she’s fired up to work hard to vindicate Faisal chief, Alhaji Karim Gruzah for the massive confidence reposed in her. “We’ve supported King Faisal in many ways and this is going to involve more work for them in Accra. Everything that will bring progress to King Faisal, I will work hard to realize it,” Madam Betty told 90 MINUTES.

She continued: “I’ve worked in football for so long and I founded my own colts’ team called Ashanti Gold Stars in Kumasi since 1999. Football is my work and Alhaji Gruzah has known me for a long time,”

Having been inspired to form the colts’ club during her teaching days as District Sports coordinator in the Ashanti region to provide a platform for honing the talents of many young players discovered during inter-schools competitions but not heard of again afterwards, the new Accra rep of Faisal is determined to do well in the job to inspire other women that they can also go into sports administration.

“Alhaji Gruzah has been my father for a long time and he knows I can do the work. I pray to the Lord to empower and guide me to do it very well so that other women will also be motivated,” Mrs. Anim-Addo said.
