The Swedish State Persecutor has decided to stop the deportation of Ghanaian midfielder Kingsley Sarfo after fresh evidence were found.
Sarfo has already served a year in prison for raping minors and he was due to be deported to Ghana soon but fresh evidence has been found which could turn the case around.
“It’s a very positive decision,” the football player’s lawyer Thomas Bodström told UNT.

“The girl in question was 15 not 14, when she applied for a residence permit, there was an attachment that she was actually born in 2001,”
“A step in the right direction. He didn’t get a fair trial before, it was too difficult with the evidence, but I have to make sure he gets it now,”he added.
The State Persecutor will state investigations on the new evidence soon.
