Accra, June 2, GNA - Richard Kingson, number one goalie of the senior national team, the Black Stars has donated sports kits to his former club, Accra Great Olympics.

The items includes two sets of jerseys, ten footballs, six goalkeeper's gloves and a set of hose.

Making the donation on behalf of the goalie, Mr Maurice Quansah of the Graphic Sports, said Kinsgon still has fond memories of the Club that steered him to stardom, hence the decision to support them in their quest to make a return to the premiership.

He expressed the hope that the donation will also motivate the current crop of players to give off their best to the cause of the team. Mr Quansah said the goalie has been monitoring the performance of the Club in the ongoing Division One League and believes they have what it takes to redeem the image of the Club by returning to the premiership.

"You do not belong to the Division One League; your right place is the Premier League, so you must work to ensure an early return to the elite league". Mr Quansah stated.

He told the players and officials of Great Olympics that the goalie will visit the team after the Stars game against Mali and would train with them as part of efforts to further motivate them to glory. Professor Joshua Alarbi, a member of the Board of Directors of Great Olympics expressed appreciation to the player for coming to the aid of the Club when it mattered most.

"These are items that we need badly and they have reached us at the right time". He stated.

Professor Alarbi added that the items will go a long way in inspiring the players to give off their best in the remaining matches of the Division One League in a bid to ensure their early return to the premiership.

He noted that the entire Olympic family is behind keeper Kingson and has consistently monitored his performance, adding "We are proud of him".

"We are confident you will lead the Black Stars to the World Cup for the second time in the history of Ghana football". He stated.
