Kingston: Hearts deal depends on Europe

Hearts midfielder Kingston Laryea says there's more to come from him after scoring his first goal for the Jambos in Saturday's draw with St Mirren.

"My main position is holding midfield," he told The Scotsman. "Sometimes in a situation when the ball is up [in the opposition half] I have the opportunity to go there. I can go there and cause a surprise for the opponents."

Kingston has impressed with the way he has fitted in so quickly since moving on a six-month loan deal from Terek Grozny of the Russian First Division.

"There is not a very big difference," he said. "Here they play more long balls and a lot of running, but in Russia they're used to keeping the ball more. I'm the type of player that can cope with any other league."

The Ghana international admits his future at Hearts, where he has a three-year option, will rely on European qualification.

"The important thing is to play in the UEFA Cup or the Champions League. There, people will get to know you more. That is my aim," he said.
