Hearts of Oak's Kofi Agyare has issued a grovelling apology to his club for making unsubstantiated bribery allegations. The phobians imposed an indefinite suspension after he alleged last month that he was offered a bribe to compromise against his current team while with Kessben FC.

"After a deep and sober reflection, I have come to concede that my unsubstantiated allegations against the club are as much in bad taste as they are a breach of club discipline," his statement, sighted by SuperSport.com, began.

The player went on to "render [his] unqualified apology to the board, management, supporters, my colleague players and, indeed, all stakeholders and sympathizers of the club."

He revealed that his conduct was borne out of "sheer personal frustration and not motivated by malice". Agyare, formerly of Berekum Arsenal, was punished following his inability to prove his claim when given the opportunity to defend himself.

Hearts’ General Manager Ashford Tettey Oku had supervised the action to deal with the player's utterances made on Kumasi based Angel FM.
