The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has appointed Malik Jabir, the Technical Director of the club with immediate effect.
A release signed by Mr Kwabena Sarpong Akosah, Press and Public Affairs Officer of the club in Kumasi on Tuesday, said Malik will essentially serve as the liaison between management and the technical team.
It said Malik's position did not mandate him to interfere with the work of the head coach, Abdul Razak and that management will like to see regular and fruitful consultations with him, Malik and the coach.
The technical director's responsibilities the release said will be to scout for players as well as the technical direction of the club's Under-20 team.
Malik, a former Kotoko and Black Stars player and a member of the club's 1970/71 Africa champion's cup winning squad, has a vast coaching experience and had coached both local and foreign teams.
