Kumasi Asante Kotoko's international friendly against the African Super champions, Enyimba FC of Nigeria, at the Kumasi Stadium tomorrow will be the first test for their newly-appointed German coach, Hans Kodric.
Kodric, who was appointed by the Kotoko Board last Wednesday after arriving in the country a couple of weeks ago, moved straight to business with the team. After having some training spells with the club already, Kodric is not expected to struggle much in the area of player selection. By now, he might have had a fair idea about the kind of players who are going to feature in his plans.
However, tomorrow's duel against Enyimba will be quite tough since the Nigerians are now monarchs of all they survey. Only last week, they beat Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel 1-0 at home to win the African Super Cup.
This was after annexing the CAF Champions League for the first time in the history of Nigeria football at the expense of Ismailia last year. The match, which will be good preparation for both teams in respect of their African campaigns this year, is also going to renew the Ghana-Nigeria rivalry.
