Kotoko Supporters in Wa celebrate

Wa, Nov 21, GNA - Kumasi Asante Kotoko supporters in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region on Sunday undertook a three-hour march through the principal streets of the municipality to celebrate the club's 20th league title.

The supporters' who were in jubilant mood, were accompanied by drumming and dancing with singing of Kotoko victory songs to signify the success of the club in area.


Dressed in their traditional Fabulous colours of red and white, the supporters who numbered about 500, started their march at the Wanwang Park opposite the Ghana Commercial Bank and moved towards the Regional offices of the Ghana Police Service through the Insurance road to the market square before finally stopping at the State Transport Corporation Yard.

The march attracted other supporters from the civil service, the business community and people from all over the Municipality who carried placards some of which read, "We are league champions, "Whether Kaladan points or not, Kotoko are champions", "Concentrate on your clubs and leave kotoko alone" and "Africa, here comes Kotoko".


Mr. M. Bukari, popularly known as 'Doctor' urged the supporters to forge ahead and unite towards the formation of bigger Circles in the Municipality and that they should also acquire membership cards to enable them generate adequate funds for the Club's future engagements. He donated assorted drinks to the supporters and called on them to contribute their quota regularly towards the success of the club. The supporters called on the leadership of Club to avoid the frequent changes of coaches and players, which they said was not helping in the team's consistency.
