The Communications directorate of Kumasi Asante Kotoko have apologized for the behaviour of a section of their fans who were engaged in brawl with two journalist during their encounter with Dreams FC in the week 23 action of the Ghana Premier League (GPL)
Reports from the match indicated that two journalist were attacked by fans of Kotoko on Sunday after their match with Dreams FC, for reasons purported to be how they described the penalty decision that was awarded to Kotoko on radio.
A statement released by the Cub read: “we apologizes unequivocally to the two journalist who were involved in a brawl.We advise our supporters to put up good behaviour anytime they are at the stadium.The Club does not accept violence or physical confrontation as a means to resolving disagreement or differences.”
“We believe in freedom of Press and therefore encourage our supporters to tolerate dissenting views on the club.”
Kotoko will travel to Accra to face Liberty Professionals in the week 24 of the GPL.
