Asante Kotoko could be punished for boycotting the medal presentation of the President’s Cup after losing out on penalties to Berekum Chelsea on Friday at the Accra Sport Stadium.

The team led by head coach Bogdan Korak marched into the dressing room immediately after a 7-6 defeat.

This was in protest of a refere Mohammed Awal’s decision to order the re-take of two missed kicks by Berekum Chelsea.

A member of the planning committee Oduro-Nyarko says Kotoko’s was disrespectful to Ghana vice president John Mahama who was the special guest of honour.

“I am actually sad, I am livid but what else can you do,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“They say the referee’s decision must be respected and that must be the ultimate. When the second man of the country is present the game can’t end like this. We must pay him the due respect and therefore I am not happy by developments here.”

He added: “We are yet to meet to take a firm decision on that and therefore I cannot give you a definite answer.”

Kotoko in 2005 walked off the pitch against Heart of Lions after a penalty was awarded the latter during a Top 4 tournament at the same venue.
