Kotoko fans spleen their rowdism on Chelsea supporters

Berekum Chelsea were not only victimized by a controversial penalty goal, but their fans and officials were also brutally assaulted by Kotoko supporters at last Wednesday night’s Glo Ghana Premier league clash in Kumasi.

Any Chelsea fan seen wearing the team’s colours was assaulted. In fact, it is clear that the Baba Yara is not a safe ground anymore, the FA’s Disciplinary Committee should watch back the clip and punish Kotoko for that missile throwing at VIPs, water cans were hurled at those at the VIP section of the stadium.

As I write, Nana Oduro Sarfo, the Accra representative of Chelsea is in hospital receiving treatment from the severe assault he suffered at the hands of Kotoko supporters, very sad indeed.

Kotoko fans have justified that they are rowdy; after that missiles throwing incident at Accra Sports Stadium against Hearts of Oak, they have repeated such nasty incident on a calm team like Berekum Chelsea. l didn't expect such act from Kotoko supporters because l don't know why a home team after winning a match would attack the supporters of away team forgetting that they too would be coming to Berekum in the 2nd round.

l am not inciting violence though but Kotoko fans should learn, they are not supporting a mere team. They should thank their stars that, the chairman of Berekum Chelsea team, Nana Obed Kwame Nketiah is a peace minded fellow and he would not tolerate violence as a sign of revenge on the return encounter but l was sad to see him being peddled with water sachet by Kotoko fans.

l challenge the DC this time to avoid selective justice on this and go by the rules of the game and find Kotoko culpable of this incident. For similar punishment attributed to Berekum Arsenals last season, there shouldn't be a fine on this. They should be banned from Baba Yara because the rules shouldn't be a respecter for any team.

A good and unbiased justice brings improvement and progress. Thanks.
