Hearts of Oak team Manager, Nii Saban Quaye says Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s failure to progress to the next stage of the CAF Champions League could be attributed to the ages of their players.
The Black Stars team manager revealed that some of the Kotoko players are old and the team will need vibrant and youthful players in the near future to succeed in Africa.
“Our boys are young, Kizito and co, they can run for more than 90mins, but for Kotoko most of them are old and they cannot do the same, no wonder they didn’t qualify, they need players who are hungrier and ready to die for the team”, Saban told Asempa FM.
Meanwhile, Saban indicated that the Phobians will take a game at a time after beating Olympique Ngor to qualify to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Hearts of Oak will entertain Malian side Club Djoliba later this month and the team Manager of the club Nii Saban Quaye says they will take a game at a time.
“The boys were hungrier in our last game especially in the second half, and that is what we will be hoping for in our next game against the Malian side.
“We have a very young team that can do well, although we have not set targets for ourselves in the competition, the team is taking a game at a time to see if we can progress again”.
