Asante Kotoko claim they have a principled agreement in place to re-sign midfielder Mark Sekyere.
The 24-year-old’s name was published as one of the registered players of the Ghanaian champions only for the move to fall through at the last minute.
Sekyere who plays for Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas is desperate to return to Kotoko having struggled to hit the heights since leaving the club in 2008.
Kotoko spokesman Ali Maradona explains an ‘outstanding issue’ with Sekyere’s current club affected his move but adds there is an agreement to sign him by December.
“Mark Sekyere has told us he has an outstanding issue to resolve with his club and that is how come we weren’t able to sign him,” he told Metro FM.
“He has given us the assurances that by December all these issues will be resolved to clear the way for him to sign for Kotoko.”
