Kumasi Asante Kotoko recently announced a new board with Dr. Kyei retaining his position to run Asante Kotoko SC for the next three years. The current Chief Executive Officer is set to leave the club as part of a major restructuring.
According to reports, the Phar Rangers administrator was on a list of potential CEOs the Kumasi based club is exploring and his aide Jones Asante Mfodwo gave the confirmation and also addressed the recent link to English club QPR FC whiles speaking to OYEREPA 100.7FM.
"Nana Yaw Amponsah is open to the Asante Kotoko job, what I know is that talks were ongoing before the lockdown for him to join Kotoko even before the new board was constituted but I can't tell if it's still on but what I can confirm is that of QPR which if not for the closed borders and issues of the COVID-19, he should have started work with the English side," he said.
