Kuffour Weeps For the Future of Ghana Football

....... Calls for Nyantekyi to resign

Former Black Star and Bayern Munchen defender Samuel Osei Kuffour have expressed how thwarted, he is with regards to the current state of Ghana football.

In an interview with TV 3, the member of the 2006 Ghana Black Star world cup team said, "What happened in Brazil is a disgrace from the FA and the ministry. If you watched me on supers sports in our match against Portugal you'll realize that I was speechless. There was nothing more that I could say."

"There are so many Ghanaians here and abroad who felt embarrassed about the scene we created out there," he said.

"If I were him (Nyantekyi) I'll step down because there is nothing more that he can do. He has run out of ideas. It's a pity that people cannot tell us the truth. How long can we wait," he quizzed. Kuffour who featured for Ghana at all levels before hanging his boot also called on the government to step in so that the country can restructure the face of Ghana sports.

"I think it is about time that the government stepped in so that we can at least use two years to reorganize ourselves," he said.

However, Kuffour who spent most of his playing days in Germany with fc Bayern Munchen backed German duo, Otto Addo and former Borussia Dortmund forward Ibrahim Tanko to take up the vacant Black Stars coaching job. "I think Kwesi is a very good coach and a friend, but he failed at the world cup because he couldn't fight for his players when it mattered most. I think if we pair Tanko and Otto Addo they can deliver because they played at the highest level and they also have a very good coaching background," "Someone will mention Avram Grant but apart from taking Chelsea to the Champions League finals, what else can you say about him. He hasn't done enough to convince me," he added.
