Ghana international Bernard Yao Kumordzi is looking up to the coming Belgian season as he eyes personal laurels.
The 27-year-old had a good season in the last campaign though Genk failed to win the league and were also booted out of Europe.
“Last season was a disappointment as we could not qualify for the Europa League. Genk is a big club with a big vision and we will have loved to be in Europe again,” Kumordzi told Goal Ghana.
“Notwithstanding, it was good for me personally, as I scored lots of goals because the game is now all about goals.”
The former Panionois player also hinted that he will continue to work hard though he has done enough to have caught the eyes of the Black Stars coaches.
He added: “I will continue to do my best, I think over the years I have done well at club level to have merited a national team call-up.
“I will continue pushing hard as I am someone who is never satisfied with my effort. I want to be the best always.”
