Kwesi Appiah mourns 'true coaching legend' EK Afranie

Former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has paid glowing tribute to veteran trainer EK Afranie who died on Tuesday.

Afranie, who had suffered mild stroke, died when the ambulance transferring him from Accra to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital was involved in a fatal accident.

Appiah claims he failed to control his emotions when he heard the news.

"It was very difficult for me to control my emotions when I heard his sudden death. I used to talk to him even at on his sickness bed when I was in Sudan. He is inspirational to me and has given me loads of advice. A true legend is gone," Appiah told Kumasi-based Angel FM.
