Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston has been axed by Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, GhanaSoccernet.com can exclusively.

The 30-year-old has been released after just six months at the top-flight side.

Kingston signed a one-year contract with the club in the summer

Vitesse terminated the contract of the Ghanaian international, taking advantage of a six-month performance clause in his contract.

Kingston was signed by coach Theo Bos but changes in management and technical team looks to have had a negative effect of the Ghanaian.

He was slowly warming into ceasing a first team place when multimillionaire Merab Jordania came to power at Vitesse, resulting in the sacking of Bos who signed the Ghanaian.

Under new coach Albert Ferrer, Vitesse’s technical team insist Kingston is surplus to requirements at the club.

Kingston joined the club on a free transfer this summer after his contract with Scottish side Hearts was not extended.

The midfielder is currently on holidays in his native Ghana and his next line of action is not known.

But he could still attract interest from clubs in Scotland and Russia where he massively impressed.
