Spanish La Liga side Las Palmas is pulling all the plugs in an attempt to sign Mubarak Wakaso from Russian side Rubin Karzan.
The Ghanaian has officially ended his loan spell with the Canaries, who had a special season, finishing 11th on the league table.
Coach Quiqi Sanchez took over as head coach with the team just a point above the drop but managed to turn things around.
Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso recovered from a slow start to the season to play an instrumental role in the second half of the season, playing in 20 league games and grabbing an assist and one goal.
Having secured the rights to play in the La Liga next season, signing Wakaso is now a topmost priority.
The only stumbling block is the players huge weekly wages and the offer of European football by other suitors could tempt the former Espanyol man away.
