Accra, Dec. 01, GNA - Dansoman-based Liberty Professionals Football Club has disassociated itself from the purported alleged court action taken against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Professional League Board by some fans.

It said that the so-called Abraham Adjei who claims to be a supporter of the Club is not known by the Club and therefore Liberty are not part of the writ of summons at the High Court of Justice. Alhaji Ibrahim Sly Tetteh, President of the Club in a release copied to the GNA Sports on Friday said copied to the General Secretary of the GFA that Management of the Club acknowledges receipt of the letter of the summons but are very mindful of Article 17 1.11.1 of the GFA's Statutes.

It said that 93Liberty fraternity are therefore stating categorically that it has nothing to do with the alleged court action taken against the FA by some people and the so-called Adjei who claims to be a supporter of Liberty since he is not known by the Club=94. The Club said it is mindful of the Statutes that states that 93No Club, Official or member of a Club, player or supporter of a Club or Official of the Association shall take the GFA to the ordinary Law Courts of the land on any matter arising out of the Status and Regulations of the GFA=94.

Alhaji Tetteh said 93Liberty Professionals therefore has no reason for going to court, as the FA is very much aware of the fact that Liberty has nothing to gain or lose with the decisions of its committees concerning protests, points deduction or points gain. The Club irrevocably stated their non-involvement in the case adding that they do not want to associate themselves with the summons. It would be recalled that Frederick Nuamah of Awudome, Accra on behalf of Tema Youth, Samuel Antwi of Obuasi representing Ashgold and Abraham Adjei of Awudome, Accra, representing Liberty filed a writ of summons at the High Court of Justice as the Plaintiffs against the Ghana Football Association and the Professional League Board as the Defendants in the court case.

The writ filed last Tuesday by the fans sought to challenge last week's verdict of the Appeals Committee of the GFA for re-instating three points and three goals to Hearts of Oak in their match against Tema Youth and the order for a replay of the seventh week Premier League match.

The injunction motion filed by Nuamah, Antwi and Adjei was subsequently struck out by Justice Ofori Atta sitting at the Accra High Court 14 at the former Public Tribunal block.
