Accra, Nov. 7, GNA - Liberty Professionals recorded their first away win of the season after beating city rivals Accra Hearts of Oak by a lone goal in their Week 10 Glo Premiership encounter on Sunday at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra. Guinean-import Capi Soumah scored the only goal of the match in the closing stages of the game to land Liberty a deserved victory at the expense of Hearts who seemed ordinary on the day. Fresh from their victory over their archrivals Asante Kotoko last week, expectations were high for the Phobians to extend their winning spree but it rather turned the opposite as they delivered a below par performance.

The hosts were dealt a major blow after midfielder Theophilus Apoh leaped out on 35 minutes after sustaining an injury, but his replacement Moro Abubakar was not up to scratch allowing Liberty the upper hand in midfield.

Prior to that, Hearts attacking midfielder Douglas Nkrumah had come close to breaking the deadlock but his effort missed narrowly after Wilson Andoh had put him through. On the stroke of half time, Liberty's agile goalie Patrick Antwi came to his side's rescue with a spectacular save of Uriah Asante's goal bound shot and for the rebound from Andoh going wide. Hearts resumed the second half strongly and their efforts yielded a penalty after Nkrumah was impeded by David Kabu in the penalty area barely sixty seconds into the second half. However, Asante who has established himself as one of the key performers in the Hearts set up turned villain after Liberty goalie Antwi parried away his effort from the spot. Liberty coach George Lamptey introduced Luqman Bright for Morou Zakari on 66 minutes to put more pressure on the Hearts defence, which was weakened following an injury to captain Karimu Alhassan few minutes earlier.

The visitors took charge of the game and it was only a matter of time that they would score. On the 82nd minute, Capi notched home after midfielder Christopher Nkansah had put him through during one of their raids upfront. With defeat staring at them, the Phobians multiplied in attack but Liberty's goalie Antwi proved their nemesis with spectacular saves as his side cruised to a sweet victory.
