Sportscrusader.com can reveal that this year’s MTN FA Cup is scheduled to kick off on January 28.
The oldest club competition will begin with the preliminary round of matches which involves clubs in the lower division.
After the preliminary round, the 16 clubs in the premier league will join 48 clubs from the lower tier to vie for the prestigious trophy.
The start of the MTN FA Cup had been delayed due to the well documented legal tussle between the Ghana Football Association and King Faisal which placed an injunction on the Congress of the GFA.
The court recently gave the GFA permission to hold its congress paving the way for the start of the MTN FA Cup.
Kotoko won the title last season after beating Inter Allies in the grand finale.
