Hearts captain Mahatma Otoo will undergo a medical at Benfica ahead of a proposed move to the Portuguese giants, reports in the local media have claimed. The 21-year-old is expected to fly out of the country next week to undergo the formality.
If the medical is successful, the ex-Sporting Mirren will sign a long-term deal with the club, officials have said. Otoo has been reluctant to renew his contract with Hearts which runs out at the end of the season.
Many clubs have been linked with the services of the goal machine with local rivals Kotoko the latest to slap in a transfer request.
The former Ghana Under-20 captain is believed to be interested in a move abroad and will relish the chance to play for a respected European side if the anticipated move goes through.
He is the joint-leading scorer in the Ghana Premier League with 13 goals.
