Amidaus Professionals owner Alhaji Baba Gedo Gambo has alleged his players have been approached by other clubs to throw away matches in the Ghana Premier League.
But the football administrator failed to mention the names of the unscrupulous characters involved.
With players paid paltry sums in the Ghana top-flight, there are are fears match-fixing is likely to be more prevalent in Ghana.
”I’m an angry man because I don’t like what is happening. Some of my players are having sleepless nights because of incessant calls from certain people,” Gambo claimed on Accra-based Happy FM.
”They keep pressuring my players to play it soft so that they can win. ”I have the numbers of those officials who are doing that and if they don’t put a stop to it, I will expose them.
”We’re in for serious business and not to throw away matches so people can save their blushes.
”I’m warning those involved and I mean it that if they don’t stop calling my boys, they will have to deal with the FA. ”Such behaviours cannot be tolerated at all.
We know we’re a small club but we’re determined to make history and so we won’t allow anyone to use money to infiltrate our camp. That will not happen.
Officials of the Ghana FA are likely to investigate his comments as the race for the title and relegation intensifies.
Amidaus have hugely impressed on their debut season in the top-flight as they lie fourth on the league table.
The Tema-based side have achieved some remarkable results in their first season, beating 2011 champions Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park and holding giants Kotoko in Kumasi.
