Maxbees ask for security

THE management of Maxbees Football Club has appealed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ensure maximum security during their crucial league match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Kumasi Stadium on Sunday.

This, they said, will allow the match to be played in an atmosphere of peace so that the better team emerges the winner at the end of the day.

According to a statement signed by the chairman of Maxbees, Mr Maxwell Safo, the appeal was necessitated following telephone calls from unidentified persons who claim to be Kotoko supporters, threatening to attack both players and officials of the club when they play Kotoko on Sunday.

"Maxbees FC believe, however, that such threats cannot be said to be representing the sentiments of the Kotoko management, it revealed.

The statement therefore pleaded with the leadership of Kotoko and all well-meaning supporters of the Porcupine Warriors to display maximum maturity and a high sense of fair play to ensure an incident-free match.

The management of Maxbees also expressed the hope that those involved in providing security at the Kumasi Stadium will take their plea serious.
