Ghana coach Maxwell Konadu has made it clear that players will have to work for one of the 23 tickets to South Africa for the African Nations Championship.
Konadu and his technical team have spent the past seven days casting an eye over around 29 home-based players at the Black Stars camp in Accra.
With the New Year’s deadline for the final squad lists fast approaching, the ex-Kotoko trainer has explained that players will have to earn their place in the final group.
“The players will have to do more if they want to make the trip to South Africa,” Konadu said.
“Training has been intense but the bottom line is that it is the players who must put up a good show to be in the squad.
“Anyone who is selected must merit a call-up into the final team. We want to go out there and make our nation proud and so we cannot take chances.”
