May Day Gala on Saturday

Accra, April 27, GNA-The Ghana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) May Day Soccer Gala Championship will be played at the Dansoman Keep Fit Club Grounds on Saturday, April 29.

A TUC source, who disclosed this in Accra on Thursday, said six organised labour groups are expected to participate in the competition which forms part of activities marking the celebration of this year's May Day.

They are TUC, Ghana Federation of Labour,(GFL), Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT),Civil Servants Association(CSA), Judicial Services Association of Ghana (JUSAG) and the Ghana National Registered Nurses Association.

Mr Kwasi Adu Amankwaah, Secretary-General of the TUC, will present the trophies to the winners. The May Day National Parade, under the theme: Organised Labour in an Era of Increasing global challenges" will be held at the Independence Square on Monday, May 1.
