Medeama will take legal action against Petrojet and Egyptian agent Mohammed El Zayat for illegally tapping Theophilus Anobaah, the club has confirmed.

The Ghanaian side are incensed with the Egyptian club for signing their duly contracted player without recourse to the club.

Petrojet announced the signing of the 23-year-old on a three-year deal last week but the deal has been put on hold after the Ghana FA refused to grant the player his International Transfer Certificate.

The Tarkwa-based side have vowed not to let him go without a fight and insist he’s still contracted to them till 2016.

The ambitious Ghanaian side are also angry with Egyptian agent Mohammed El Zayat who lured the player to sign for the Suez-based side.

They have vowed to report his conduct to world governing body, FIFA and stop him from further exploiting Ghanaian players.

“We will take legal action against Petrojet and the Egyptian for tapping our player without our consent,” club president Moses Armah told the club’s official website.

“We have insisted that we have a contract with the player which runs out till 2016 and so we’ll ensure that the proper thing is done.

“You don’t just wake up one morning and decide to sign a player without recourse to the club.

“We are not interested in what he (Anobaah) told them. What is of prime importance to us is that he has duly signed a contract extension with us.

“We’ll get to the bottom of this matter no matter what. It’s not proper and we’ll not allow anybody to swindle us.”

Zayat is believed to be responsible for tapping many Ghanaian players, using deceit to lure them to sign for clubs abroad without their parent clubs getting a dime.

He has dealt with several Ghanaian players including Kofi Nti Boakye and Yahaya Mohammed who left Kotoko without the club getting a penny from their sales.
