Member of Dwarfs' restructuring committee resigns

Cape Coast, June 5, GNA - Mr Daniel Fynn Essiam, a member of a three member- committee appointed by Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, Omanhene of Oguaa Traditional Area to restructure Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs has resigned.

In a resignation letter to the Omanhene who is also the Life Patron of the Club chanced upon by the GNA Sports, Mr Essiam, a legal practitioner, said it had 93become necessary for him to resign because of the unfounded allegations, vile insults and threats from a group which styles itself as the concerned supporters of Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs football club based at Kotokuraba Zongo.

Last week, the concerned supporters called on Nana Atta to reconstitute the committee, after accusing the members of deviating from their terms of reference, stipulating its duties and doing things to suit their whims and caprices.

It would be recalled that the Committee was appointed in January this year, following a vote of no confidence passed by the supporters and members of Interim Management Committee (IMC) against Nana Brew Butler, General Manager of the Club, for alleged mismanagement. Other members of the restructuring committee are Nana Brew Butler and Sisi Tachie Menson, a retired educationist. In a related development, the mortal remains of the late John Amoah, a former player of the Club was laid to rest at the Asokyeano cemetery last Saturday.

Mr Amoah 69, popularly known as 'Indigo', died after a short illness at Cape Coast.

Former players of various sporting clubs in the Municipality were among people who attended the burial ceremony, during which more than 20 wreaths were laid.

Mr Mathew Doe, Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association was among officials of Sports Council who attended the burial ceremony.
